Having the opportunity to travel to India I organized a cross-cultural drawing exchange between foster kids in Kansas City, Missouri, USA and orphans in Kerala, India. I hosted workshops in each country where kids drew about their lives, then exchanged the drawings, cultivating cultural sharing and gift giving. But most important I saw how the workshops themselves provided the kids an experience that made them feel special and cared for, the real value of the project.
